Daniel Seymour, Violin

Daniel Seymour has recently graduated from the University of Delaware (UD) with his Master of Music degree. While at UD, Mr. Seymour was Concertmaster for the University of Delaware Symphony and Chamber Orchestras. Most recently, he has done 2 performances of Mendelsohn's Octet during the Summer of 2022, funded by Delaware Division of the Arts, Stravinsky’s “The Soldier's Tale”, Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro” with the UD Opera as Concertmaster, Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” as Concertmaster, with Xiang Gao as soloist, and performed at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall with the UD Chamber Orchestra as Assistant Concertmaster. Furthermore, Mr. Seymour has performed Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto with the Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra in early 2020, and that summer, he performed Mozart’s Violin Concerto no. 5 with the Master Players Festival Orchestra, as the winner of the concerto competition. Mr. Seymour currently teaches over 30 private students, performs regularly with the Philadelphia String Quartet (philadelphiaquartet.com), String Poets (stringpoets.com), and Elan Artists. (elanartists.com) Prior to attending the University of Delaware, Mr. Seymour participated in the 2018 Master Players Festival, where he sat Principal Second Violinist in the orchestra, and received second place in the concerto competition. During the summer, Mr. Seymour attended the 2018 Rocky Ridge Young Artists Seminar on a full tuition scholarship as Concertmaster, and his chamber ensemble received the “Most Inspiration Ensemble” award. Mr. Seymour graduated from the University of Central Florida (UCF) in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance, studying with Dr. Ayako Yonetani. While attending UCF, Mr. Seymour was the Concertmaster of the UCF Symphony and Chamber Orchestras for 3 years, performing several concertos with the UCF Chamber Orchestra. In 2017, he competed in the MTNA Young Artists Competition, receiving honorable mention, and performed at the MTNA National Winners Concert. Daniel plans to focus on orchestra auditions for his future career.
